So if you’re wandering around the streets of Ottawa wondering “Where can I see really cool geeky artwork AND get a great meal at a great price” I have the answer for you.
Currently my work is up at two different restaurants within the Ottawa area. First is over at Café Nostalgica, which is on Cumberland St. over at the University of Ottawa. Batman and Cthulhu (the image above) along with some smaller canvases will watch you eat. Second is at Kinki Restaurant on York St. in the Market area. Come in to see my large Amazon piece or the ultra-awesome (and ultra expensive) Weapon X piece and stay for delicious sushi.
Kinki’s art will be up until May 1st while Nostalgica has my art on display until late May.
It’s coming! May 10th! The Cybertronic Spree bring the robot rock to Ottawa for the very first time! Plus the one and only Wordburglar returns for a follow-up WGA performance. Danger Boy and Critical Miss & Retro Joad are also along for the ride. Tickets are $20 ($15 for Ottawa Comic Con pass holders) and will be available next week. Doors at 8 PM, show starts at 830 PM. Join us at the Nightclub at the End of the Universe (AKA Zaphod Beeblebrox) for one stellar good time!
My little company that could is one year old! Come celebrate with us if you live in Ottawa! We have art for sale, treats for sale, music, videogames to play, performances, prizes…DRINKS TO DRINK…it’s a party yo!
I haven’t posted in awhile. I’ve still been recovering from the awesome insanity that was Nerdgasm Burlesque and Ottawa Comic Con. Nevertheless…art waits for no one, so here’s a drawing of Thor in honour of his day of the week.
Created by Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples for their comic book series SAGA, The Stalk is perhaps one of the most unique and frightening designs I’ve seen in some time. So of course I had to draw it.
I gave the original to Fiona Staples herself at New York Comic Con last year.
The latest piece in the VAST ‘Say…Hello Project’
Most of the kitties are over on DeviantArt. I think I need to add a bunch though…damn my proclivity for high production!
Here’s the link if you want to see (most of) them. Currently I have about 90 for sale at shows. I’ve done almost 200 different types. Why? Because people keep asking for them. They love them. And I love doing them. It’s a hell of a fun art project.
Who doesn’t love The Walking Dead?
I’ve been told to tweet this image to Norman Reedus. Soon, internets…soon.
Who knew that there were so many geeks and nerds in Ottawa? No one. That’s why when last year’s inaugural Ottawa Comic Con happened, everyone was shocked that over 20 000 people showed up to see what it was about.
I was at last year’s show and saying it was a tremendous success for everyone involved is an understatement. It was my second most successful show last year, after New York Comic Con. I booked this year’s show back in January and I’m glad I did it early – artist spaces sold out within a week of them being available.
We’re just under two weeks away from this year’s show. This year attendees can look forward to meeting Gillian Anderson (X-Files), Adam West and Burt Ward (1960’s Batman TV show), Wil Wheaton (Star Trek: TNG), Felicia Day (The Guild), Summer Glau (Firefly) and many more celebs. I’ll be back in Artists Alley with a bunch of new art.
In addition to being fancy and selling cool work, I’ll also have some special booth helpers with me. Local burlesque superstars Jolie Stripes and Rhapsody Blue will be helping out during the con AND Toronto’s Professional Distraction, the gorgeous and talented Red Herring will be with me as well. She’ll have posters and tickets to upcoming shows with her – plus she’ll probably pose for a photo with you if you ask nice.
It’s guaranteed to be an amazing time. Don’t miss out.
Done for a recent DeviantArt contest celebrating Lara Croft’s return to videogame screens in 2013’s Tomb Raider.
I didn’t win, so I’m totally making prints of this piece.
Hey remember Invader Zim? I sure do.
Organizing my art last night I was reminded that I have a bunch of work that hasn’t been turned into prints yet. Gir here was on that list. By the time Ottawa Comiccon hits, this will be printed and ready.
