The rumours are true – I started my own comic book series.
The Adventures of Captain So-So and Mister Maybe is the culmination of my entire life’s work. Wow, that is a bold statement…but I’m sticking with it. I’ve been told I should do my own comic book series for literal decades. I took a shot at it in the early 2000s but it never seemed to take shape. And then the pandemic hit and it was time to reassess the future. Hence…a return to the idea of my own comic book.
Captain So-So and Mister Maybe is a six-chapter comedic look at the lives of several inept and under-appreciated superheroes. Our two main characters are lovable losers who just want to use their powers for good, while making sure they’re back home in time to binge-watch the latest Disney Plus MCU series. Along the way they engage with other heroes and several wacky villains, all the while making as many pop culture jokes as they can fit into a panel. Oh and robots…they meet a LOT of robots.
Presented here is the first SIX pages of issue 1, along with the cover. It’s just enough of a taste to force you to purchase the full story, which you can find (along with tonnes of supplemental material AND as of Nov. 30th 2021 the second issue) over at www.patreon.com/adamtupperart
This comic is definitively me. It is my humour, my art, my brain…presented in easy-to-access form. I adore it and all the work that’s gone into it. I’ve been working on it since December of 2020 in crafting the story, tone, characters, designs, humour and everything else involved with the world of So-So and Maybe.
Up Your Ass, Villainy!
